Rubyiruko Menya Amateka Yawe(RMAY)

Based on the survey conducted by the national institute of statistics (NISR) on the living conditions of households in Rwanda (eicv5) between October 2016 and October 2017, the youth is one of the categories that make up the majority of Rwandans, which is rich 26.9% of the total population. In addition, those under 30 years of age make up 70% of the total population.

In order to strengthen the NDI UMUNYARWANDA Program and to expand the activities of the peer church, the National Youth Council with the Ministry responsible for Youth and Arts have organized a program called "Rubyiruko Menya Amateka Yawe".

In that program, various activities are planned including visits to places that show the history of Rwanda, various talks about that history, debates in high schools and universities, research and so on. More than 8000 young people attended various editions of Rubyiruko Menya Amateka Yawe.

Main objective

To give the youth the opportunity to visit the historic shelters in the district they live in and understand them.
