Technical Vacation Program (IGIRE Program)
Rwandan youth with skills for self-employment, BPR bank Rwanda plc in partnership with the national youth council, integrated polytechnic regional colleges (IPRCS), TVET schools and dot Rwanda offer an opportunity to youth to acquire vocational skills through a scholarship program dubbed IGIRE which literally means self-reliance with the aim of helping young people to get skills with a view of contributing to the government efforts to reduce youth unemployment, hence contribution to general decrease of unemployment rate in the country. This program started in April 2018 and is an annual program.
Through this partnership, the NYC and different IPRCS express their interests to work together towards the shared goal of equipping selected youth for the IGIRE program with vocational skills in different disciplines such as tiling, wood technology, masonry, culinary arts, electronic devices maintenance and repair, welding, domestic electricity and plumbing
